Pinot3 - White
Pinot3 - White
Inspired after reading the book Wine Grapes, by Jancis Robinson et al., which indicates Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, and Pinot Blanc are just mutants of the same grape variety Pinot. No other producer seemed to be making a blend of these three so we thought we'd give it a shot.
A wine made to be immediately enjoyable, interesting and affable that would feel equally at home either at the local boozer or amongst the Bloomsbury Set.
We hope you enjoy it!
5 Stars - Sam Kim - Wine Orbit
Delightfully fruited and elegantly fragrant, showing ripe peach, green rockmelon, lemon peel and floral aromas, leading to a beautifully weighted palate offering supple texture and fine acidity. Well rounded and smooth with a lengthy succulent finish. A blend of Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris & Pinot Noir. At its best: now to 2026. www.wineorbit.co.nz
4 Stars - Michael Cooper
The 2022 vintage (4*) is based principally on Pinot Blanc, grown in Central Otago, blended with small amounts of Pinot Gris and Pinot Noir (hence the name 'Pinot 3'.) Handled in stainless steel tanks and old oak casks, it is full-bodied and vibrantly fruity, with generous, peachy, spicy flavours, fresh and dry. Best drinking mid-2023+. www.michaelcooperwines.com
