Big Sundae

Superbly ripe Flora grapes, grown by Rex Sunde of Oratia, were gently pressed on top of luscious Albariño grapes from the Big Cock vineyard in Matakana. The juice fermented naturally in old oak and produced a full bodied, textural, exotically perfumed & heady wine. We hope you enjoy! But, be careful, at 14% abv it’s got some oomph!

Well worth discovering, the highly distinctive 2022 vintage (4.5*) is a blend of Flora (68 per cent), grown at Oratia, and Albarino (32 per cent), grown at Matakana. Fermented in old oak casks, it is a bright lemon/green, mouthfilling wine, with generous stonefruit flavours, spicy and toasty notes adding complexity, fresh acidity and a dry finish.
